Ifun Park Bring You Know Better About Chinese Dragon Boat Festival

Hello dear all friend, firstly during this special holiday, Ifun Park team wish all our customers, friends a very good day and great health! Today I am going to introduce Chinese traditional holiday to all of you-The Dragon Boat Festival（端午节）.

The Dragon Boat Festival, Spring Festival, the Qingming Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival are known as the four traditional festivals in China.The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of Chinese Lunar calenday, so it also called Doule Five Holiday. On 2022, The Dragon Boat Festival is on 3rd, June. For thousand of years, this festival has been marked by eating Zongzi（粽子）and racing dragon boats（赛龙舟）. It is such a wonderful festival that you can't miss. 

I still remember the old days clearly when little me making sticky rice dumplings, which is called Zongzi together with my family. People would also get together by the lake or riverside to enjoy the Dragon Boat Racing, shouting out loudly, cheer for the competitors.

Due to China's vast territory and large population, various kind of Zongzi are made. People in the Northern provinces like eating sweet rice dumplings. They usually put red bean paste or dates in rice dumplings and eat them with white sugar or honey.People in Southern provinces like eating salty rice dumplings. They ususally put meat or salted duck eggs in rice dumplings and eat them with soy sauce.

However, nowadays, people also make Zongzi in creative way, such as ice-cream Zongzi. I'll show you some of them-----

Ok, after introducing Zongzi, now let me introduce Dargon Boat Racing. As you can tell from its name, The Dragon Boat Festival is best known for its dragon boats races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes, for example, my hometown.

A typical dragon boat ranges from 50-100 feet in length, with a beam of about 5.5 feet, accommodating two paddlers seated side by side. A wooden dragon head is attached at the bow, and a dragon tail at thestern. A banner hoisted on a pole is also fastened at the stern and the hull is decorated with red, green and blue scales edged in gold. In the center of the boat or bow seat the drummers, gong beaters and cymbal players who set the pace for the paddlers.
